Think of three tricks you do that you love. You don’t have to actually write them down, but you’ll get more out of this if you have specific tricks in mind. So take a second and think of three tricks you perform. Take the first trick that came to your mind, and answer this question to yourself: What do you love about this trick?
That’s the first question for today. Answer that in your head for all three tricks. What do you love about them?
There are a lot of possibilities. Maybe you love how easy it is for the reaction it gets, the old effect-versus-effort ratio. Maybe it’s your favorite effect. Maybe it packs small and plays big. Maybe the method brings a smile to your face every time. Maybe it’s a perfect opener that introduces your character. Maybe it’s fun to perform. Maybe it creates the strongest interaction or engagement from the audience. Maybe it expresses very powerfully something you believe is important. Maybe it’s hysterically funny and fooling. Maybe it’s just so jaw-dropping astonishing that no one ever forgets where they were when they saw it.
