Readers of Genii will be familiar with Sweden’s Tom Stone, whose column “Lodestones” appeared here over the course of nearly a decade. Relative to other releases in the series, this one contains a lot. There are 14 items included. So the explanations come at a clip. The explanations are all clear, but some of the finer details in handling are left for you to work out if you so choose.

Four things jump out as being particularly novel and worthy of attention. The first is a goofy and funny two-person handling of the Six Card Repeat that actually provides a reason for having the wrong number of cards. There is a cerebral piece using postcards based on the story of the Ship of Theseus where you exchange the pieces of one torn postcard for another, and yet the back still has a signature on it. There is also a Russian roulette-style routine using whoopee cushions. This well-motivated use of a well-known force will leave an army of family entertainers lamenting, “Why didn’t I think of that?” and then wishing no one else watches this.
