Around 20 years ago I devised a way of performing magic at parties that made it an absolute pleasure. A format that changed the whole dynamic and made those gigs into something enjoyable to do rather than a chore. I assumed it had been done before. I didn’t think too much about it until I started telling a few magic friends who all asked if they could do it. I said yes as I wasn’t convinced it was entirely original. As time has gone by, I now think that maybe this is original to me (certainly elements of it). However, I am gifting it to the magic community. I encourage you to try it. The only problem is you will never want to perform walk-around magic again… I call it The Secret Room.
Here’s the pitch: The host will invite a small number of friends to wait outside a door. Guests will enter and be treated to a private magic and mindreading show. After the show, guests will be asked to join the party and are told not to tell anyone else what is happening in The Secret Room.
