Two experiences in Scotland are full of magic. The first is in Aberdeen, where the Arts Centre is holding a poster exhibition curated by Aberdeen Magical Society committee member Nicolas Maulet. The exhibition celebrates the centenary of the organization. “For over 100 years, Aberdeen Magical Society has promoted the art of magic in the northeast of Scotland, and I am proud to share that journey with the public,” Maulet said in a statement.
In early September, two shows showcasing Society members took place in the Aberdeen Arts Centre alongside the exhibition. Proceeds from those performances will support the Arts Centre, and the exhibition will be open to the public until September 28, 2026.

About 2.5 hours south of Aberdeen, Richard Wiseman has put together a self-guided magic-based walking tour of Edinburgh. Stops on the walk include items about Harry Houdini, The Great Lafayette, and Charles Cameron. Wiseman put together the tour as part of the 80th anniversary of the Edinburgh Magic Circle, and some of the stories might be new to Genii readers, including the link between John Henry Anderson and Sir Walter Scott, or philosopher David Hume’s contribution to magic.
The main walk is 1.2 miles and has 10 locations. Ambitious strollers can also head to the seaside town of Portobello for three additional locations. Wiseman hopes that others are inspired to do something similar in their towns, and encourages people to reach out to him if they do so.
