Rafael Tubino never liked the use of a rubber band for the Card on Ceiling effect because he felt it was unnatural to remove a deck from its case and immediately wrap it with a rubber band. To solve this problem, he devised the following method, which was first published on his Portuguese-language Cartomagia DVD (2008).

Effect

A card is selected, signed, and lost in the deck. The cards are then returned to the card case, and the cased deck is tossed toward the ceiling. The case falls back in the performer’s hands, but the signed selection remains stuck to the ceiling.
