Some illustrations and design elements scattered throughout this month’s issue may seem familiar. A few date to the last century, others to more recent years. Together they trace the visual history of Genii: The International Conjurors’ Magazine, a publication whose identity has always depended on more than words alone. Editors and contributors shaped its voice, but artists and designers gave that voice a face.
