Magician Anna DeGuzman interviewed 10-time Grammy winner Billie Eilish on her new YouTube series, Interview With a Magician. The premise of the show is that DeGuzman interviews celebrities and performs magic in between questions. Think of the show Hot Ones, but with magic tricks rather than progressively hotter hot wings.
The almost 10-minute clip has DeGuzman perform a French Kiss-style two-card transposition with a smoke flourish (the same trick, sans smoke, got a cruise ship magician punched in the face, as I’ve previously reported in this column), as well as some cardistry and other surprises. DeGuzman also asked Eilish about working with James Cameron on a 3D film he produced of one of her concerts.
In addition to being a great musician, Eilish is also a great magic spectator. “Nothing gets me like magic gets me,” Eilish says at one point during the conversation. She also has another memorable description of how much magic affects her that I’ll leave you to hear on your own.
