I’m sure you can relate to this. You arrive at the location of your show where everything looks and feels as usual. But, from the beginning of the performance, it’s uncanny the way the audience responds, the way they laugh, how much they interact, and how much you enjoy your own act. It seems some parts were rehearsed with them as their timing is spot on. You leave with specific new lines they ad-libbed that you will immediately add to future shows. You have the conviction that these people really get you, and your magic.
That is not a perfect audience. That is your perfect audience.
