Piero’s vest gleams as the stage lights hit two neat rows of needles. He pulls a length of thread from his sewing machine, and licks the frayed end in an attempt to pass it through the eye of a needle. When the needle disappears, we watch Piero realize, with some distress, that he has swallowed it.
What ensues is a beautiful tribute to a classic, as Piero’s incredible expressiveness infuses the act with both logic and charm.
