I have several Hold ’Em routines in my notes. I’ve been playing for over 12 years and spent two years playing almost professionally (I had a day job but played six nights a week most weeks). I developed stacks, dukes, changing card effects and all sorts of things with a Hold’em twist. Back then, the only people I could do it for were players—no one else had even heard of the game!
This follows a simple stacking effect I invented back then but, during some down time, I added the sucker’s hand and the classic force. Setting the flop to hit on fifth street is much more interesting and, thanks to how the game works, very easy to do. I think the selection of the winning hand makes this more interesting, too.
I start with a shuffled deck but, of course, you can set one up in advance. The red-backed cards in the photos help you track what’s going on.
