Cape Town’s College of Magic has been in the spotlight lately. The school was featured in David Blaine’s National Geographic series, Do Not Attempt, and—in celebration of its 45th anniversary—the organization is producing a show called MAJIKA this June.

MAJIKA boasts to be Africa’s largest illusion show, and features the talents of mentalist and Fool Us winner, Brendon Peel, SA’s Got Talent finalist Olwethu Dyantyi, SA’s Got Talent semi-finalist Mawonga Gayiya, and magician Marcel Pretorius.

The show, which is advertised as an experience where patrons will see “Africa’s rich cultural storytelling intertwined with  mind-blowing magic,” is directed by Chad  Findlay, who is the creative director of The College of Magic. Jared Schaedler serves as  MAJIKA’s choreographer, and Oliver Hauer  oversees lighting design.

The family show is at Artscape Theatre in Cape Town and will have four runs: two performances on June 7, 2025, and two on the following day,  June 8.
