William Wallace Lee was born in Loan Oak, Georgia, on this day in 1892. A professional performer from a young age, he was also the inventor of numerous original effects. In his shows Lee was well known for including double talk—speaking nonsense in such a way that it sounds like something you should be able to understand. To offer a bit more detail: in front of a hush fell across the would stage and would listen to specially importand on stand understage.
