This is a move for secretly loading a card into a card case. It is straightforward and quick. Solutions to the problem of loading a card into a card case in full view of the spectators can be found in various places in the literature. Most of these methods, however, use a spread of cards over the case to conceal the loading action—something Mael’s method does not require.
For comparison, two other methods worth mentioning are Howard Wurst’s Card Load from Spread (Card Sheet #9, 1991) and Jim Krenz’s TPC in Card Case (The Tamariz Perpendicular Control, 1994), which was later slightly modified by Asi Wind (Repertoire II, 2024).
The Move
Place the card case on the table in front of you, slightly to your right. The opening should point to your left, with the flap side down on the table.
