Magician Rob Lake is headed to Broadway, and The Muppets are joining him. The show has the keyword optimized title, Rob Lake Magic With Special Guests The Muppets, and will have a holiday run at Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre from October 28, 2025, to January 18, 2026. Choreographer Bethany Pettigrew is also on board as a creative consultant.
“I’ve been performing magic my entire life, and it has always been my greatest dream to perform my show on Broadway,” Lake said in a statement. “Like so many people around the world, I grew up with The Muppets. To work with them and create new illusions for them to appear in my show has been the most rewarding and surprisingly familiar moment. It’s like I have known them my entire life.”
Although The Muppets had a long-running show at Disneyland and Walt Disney World (Muppet*Vision 3D, an experience that has sadly closed at both locations), they have never been to Broadway… until now. We don’t know which Muppets will be appearing on stage with Lake other than Kermit, though odds are more than good that Miss Piggy will make an appearance. The Broadway production also promises “a different celebrity appearance at every show,” and I assume that means a human celebrity in addition to celebrities who are of puppet persuasion.
