Sports and Magic! They’re a surprising pair, but one that always seems to entertain. Paul Draper had a recent entry in this very specific kind of performance when he did a 10-minute set for Inside the NBA hosts Shaq, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson.
Draper bends spoons, predicts Barkley’s selected drink, and—perhaps most impressively—calls Shaq “big guy” and lives to tell the tale. He also tapes his eyes shut and correctly identifies the animals the four hosts drew (I use “animals” here loosely, as the hosts have varying degrees of drawing skills). If you want some more blindfold content, check out Blake Vogt’s April 2025 Genii column, where he and Dan White come up with some impromptu blindfold ideas (the method Draper uses, however, is very different).
Overall, it’s a packed performance, and entertaining not only for the magic, but for the looks of bemusement, amazement, and confusion you see on various hosts’ faces as the set progresses.
