You introduce a packet of business cards and a matchbox that contains a single match. A spectator signs a card, then pretends to remove it from the packet. Holding an “invisible” card they mime tearing a corner, burning the edge with the match, and drawing a star on it. Finally, they imagine folding the card into quarters and tossing it into the matchbox.

Moments later, the signed card vanishes from the packet and appears inside the matchbox. It rests folded into quarters, complete with the torn corner, burned edge, and hand-drawn star.

As a final surprise, the match transforms into a miniature pencil.
