Effect
The magician introduces a stack of Broadway musical flyers. A flyer is fairly selected. The magician brings attention to the sealed prediction that has been in view the entire show. The prediction is a Broadway Playbill, but it doesn’t match the show flyer the spectator selected. To save this musical catastrophe, the magician visually changes the Playbill to show the correct musical.

Background
The launching point for the routine was a set of miniature Broadway flyers I found as a kid at a hotel in New Jersey. I thought they would make a unique and visual selection process. Each time I went to the hotel lobby, I would grab a whole stack of them, making sure to take extra flyers of my favorite musical to create a force bank.
Of course, the selection process was only part of it, so next I needed to create a fun reveal and premise for the routine.
I scripted the routine to feel like we are all going to a musical together and picking out a show to see. I share a memory of going to a Broadway show with my family over Thanksgiving break. The routine is colorful and amusing, and great for anyone who enjoys musicals or lives in the Big Apple.
