A good question to always ask ourselves is: Why would our audience pay attention to what we do or say? Why would they care?
For a long time, I thought my audience would care if, in my shows, I talked about important things that would change the world, or change my spectators’ lives. That is silly. We rarely do anything remotely like that. Sometimes we connect, and we move someone, but it’s never a mystery, because they will let us know. The rest of the time we will just provide a good memory.
I suppose I thought they would care about what I was doing if I demonstrated, educated, or inspired. I was young, insecure, and most likely I was just showing off. I was definitely not sharing.
