I am conflicted... I don’t know what to believe in anymore. Imagine a beautiful, delicious pumpkin pie. Now, cut it in half vertically. One side of this scrumptious winter treat says, “Magic on social media is bad.” The other side of this delectable dessert says, “Magic on social media needs to be better.”
OK. Now, cut the pie horizontally. The top half shares people with differing opinions who hate exposure on social media. But the bottom half, again believers and nonbelievers in social media, think it’s great for magic education.
At this point, I figure I’ll just eat the damn pie because, guess what? The crumbs that are left on the knife? Yeah, that’s where I stand on these issues.
Pie metaphors aside, I doubt if people reading this engage with magic content on social media. Because, let’s face it, it’s all boring and non-bingeworthy. In 2026, you’re not seeing YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok gurus talking about how “the magic niche is popping off, yo! Like and Subscribe! Buy my merch!” (By the way, be sure to check out my book and YouTube channel. Thanks.) Yet, social media is here to stay and it continues to be many people’s main source of entertainment. For my fans of vaudeville, this is modern vaudeville, just with more AI slop. So why is magic not winning this neverending game of attention spans?
