The Genii Questionnaire: Topas

My definition of success in magic:
Always turning down performing at an oil magnate’s birthday party.

My definition of failure in magic:
When the performer loves the show more than the audience does.

One trick that I wish I learned to perform better:
One…? Are you kidding?

One trick that I can always count on:
Asking an objective expert to help with a decision. Oh, and card productions from a back palm.

When it felt, to me, like real magic:
Derren Brown’s live show’s concluding pieces.

Someone who, to me, made it feel like an art:
Teller performing his “Shadows.”
