In 1956, David Seth Kotkin was born. Later performing as Davino, he specialized in card manipulations and the Dancing Cane. As Davino, he contributed an article called “Dancing Cane Tips” to the March 1972 Genii; he offered a valuable touch for correcting the balance during the routine. Davino also offered to send some of his “professional thread” to any reader who sent a stamped envelope to his address in Metuchen, New Jersey. He next appeared in the pages of Genii when he starred in Chicago magic show and musical, The Magic Man. He was then working under the stage name David Copperfield.
