April 1: Miko

Are you sure this isn't just an April Fool's thing? Can such a card possibly exist?

April 1: Miko

In 1943, Genii magazine endorsed Miko, a new card trick by Harold Sterling, the Detroit magic dealer. Miko sold for 50 cents. Six cards were put face down on the table in a row. A die was rolled, and the top and bottom numbers added and divided by two. The value of the card would match that number. The spectator would mumble, “It’s three and a half.” The card was turned over to show the Three and a Half of Clubs. The trick was named “Mi…Ko” after Milton Kort, Sterling’s ace demonstrator who had just joined the army.
